Re: EIS Aux Ports to Horizon 10.1

Hi, Since you see OT, EGT and CHT, that indicates that the EIS is communicating with the EFIS. You can verify that by looking on the first setup page of the EFIS and noting which serial port is connected to the EIS and verify the counter is changing, Do you see aux inputs changing on your EIS, ie do...

Rotax Oil Press

I’m replacing my old Rotax with a new one. The old one has a VDO resistive oil pressure sensor. The new one gets 12v and outputs current based on pressure 5- 20 ma. Is there a way to use this with my EIS preferably without using a aux input?

Thanks,

Re: Wind Vector Different

Jeff, I found the magnetic heading was different, 187 vs 184. The Magnetometer Roll/Pitch function seems to have corrected the problem. At least now they both report the same heading. Weather was too poor to fly today to verify. The install manual could really use updating about set up for two displ...

Wind Vector Different

I'm getting used to my two Sport EX EFIS. Nice improvement from my old Sport HS units. The wind vector is quite different on the MFD than the PFD. The PFD is correct while the MFD is 20-30-40 deg in error. Is this a setting issue? I have the magnetometer output connected to both EFIS. I display trac...

Re: Garmin GPS175

Hi Jeff,

When we discussed this a year ago, you said you could write a work around to handle the problem. Garmin still has not released the promised software fix (promised for last Fall). Can you do a easy fix in the EFIS SW?

Thanks

VAL 2KR and Sport HS

Can a Sport HS control a VAL 2KR remote Nav? The manuals suggest yes, but I think I saw an old post from Katie that said no.
Replaced my GNS430 with a GNC355 and would like to add a remote VOR receiver.

Does GRT have these in stock? The Products page implies you do.

Thanks

Re: Garmin GPS175

Thanks Jeff, I'll check the flight plan on the next flight. It's curious, I have a friend with GPS175 and similar Sport EFIS that has had no problem. My GPS is the newer GNC355 but it's hard to believe the software is different. I have followed the setup you provided above. There is one additional f...

Re: Garmin GPS175

I recently replaced my GNS430 (non WAAS) with a GNC355. After a few flights I have a couple questions. I have GRT Sport HS EFIS that the GNC355 displays on. A few times I've input a direct to waypoint in the GPS and the waypoint data box on the EFIS displays the correct heading, distance and time bu...

Re: Display Question

Thanks Jeff. I'll turn on Show VOR CDI and see how that works. I'm glad to know that the CDI under the attitude indicator is always GPS. Bob & 330drvr, I'm sure the FD is cool, but it requires the purchase of vertical steering for a Sport from GRT. For as seldom as I do approaches, it's not wort...

Re: Display Question

Hi Jeff & Bob, I do not have an autopilot, GRT or other so A/P Mode doesn't mean much to me. But Nav Mode should change from Green (GPS) to White (VLOC) when I select the CDI button on the 430, correct? Does the 430 have to be receiving a VLOC signal to switch mode, ie if no signal does it stay ...
