Re: Magnetometer - powering it via multiple sources?????

The engineer says you can just connect the power outputs together because they have internal diodes and you don't need to switch grounds. He didn't comment on if any ground would be best but I would try a central ground near the Mini. Okey doke. I'll press forward with no switch. If he does comment...

Re: Magnetometer - powering it via multiple sources?????

Jeff,
Any word from the engineer on what to do here? Can I gang the power inputs and just switch the gnds? Or gang them all with no switch required?

Thanks

Re: Magnetometer - powering it via multiple sources?????

If you have a Dual AHRS then there is only one mag power connection there. One Dual AHRS and one Mini would be two power outputs. I think I will have to get some advice from the engineer on this. Switching the grounds sounds like the safest option. Using a central ground could add noise to the syst...

Magnetometer - powering it via multiple sources?????

I have dual HXrs and a mini-x as backup. I can switch the ADAHARs to get info from any one of these and it works fine. BUT I have the magnetometer powered by the mini only as it has an internal battery backup and in theory should never go down. But who knows, it might and then my magnetometer data i...

Re: Configuration Of Audio Alerts

Not trying to be a dick, but usually female voices are better for alerts, as in screaming is a high tone; low tones are associated with calmness. Theres a reason they call her "Bitchin Betty", and her friend the autopilot "George"......

Re: Roll servo override is not smooth

The override works by physically overcoming the holding force of the motor. The servo doesn't detect your force and temporarily disengage. The motor just doesn't have enough force to hold. When it breaks free and you are still pushing it, it is still trying to hold and stay engaged. It should be mu...

Roll servo override is not smooth

I'm still in gnd testing, so I get the pitch servo wont engage (but both servos respond to fwd and rev testing commands). In testing the roll servo, when I try to override it, it notches or jumps like its skipping a gear tooth, ie its not a smooth override like when the servo is disengaged. Ive got ...

...if MORE people ask for it, I'm sure Jeff would move it up the list, but I'll take hooks for now.....the OnSpeed guys have provided the code free on their website....MGL already put it in their code.....

Err, Ok great!....but uh....not quite up to speed on the V-speed ADS...any pointers to something I can read on it so I know what youre talking about, where to pick it off etc????
