Re: More Serial Ports

"If you don't need the 2020 GPS, we also have a serial port combiner module with 4 serial ports that will start shipping soon." Ohhhh really!?!?!? I don't need the extra GPS receiver, so was considering the SafeFly GPS simply as a means of adding serial ports. A port combiner really is the...

Re: Voltage Readings

Interesting... Today I was again playing with our instrument panel and the HX was showing a voltage input value much closer to what I was reading - within a tenth or two of a volt. This is quite different from what I had previously seen. Jeff's suggestion of varying display brightness to see if repo...

Re: More Serial Ports

I've been in this same position... and then GRT introduced the Safe-Fly GPS module which adds three serial ports to the Mini. Great idea! Now I just have to figure out the best configuration to "share" information between installed hardware. With a GNS480 and SL30 providing GPS and NAV inf...

Re: Voltage Readings

Hmmm... That's exactly what I have done, Jeff. I probed with mcro-probes inserted into the back side of the d-sub connector pins and measured a voltage that's pretty darned close to one diode drop higher than the voltage reported by the EFIS. I only have two buses supplying power so have only done t...

Re: Multiple GPS sources

For clarification... Our setup includes a GNS480, Garmin 396 (soon to be updated) and the Adaptive AHARS with GNSS function. At the moment I have all 3 GPS receivers wired to the EFIS but of course can't select all three at the same time. From my understanding the GNSS MUST be configured as "IN...

Re: Voltage Readings

This is a topic which has bugged me for quite awhile now... The GRT equipment reports the voltage on its three power input pins, but in fact it's reporting that voltage as measured somewhere deep within the box. There is consistently a lower reading on all three inputs when compared to actual DVM re...

Re: Can't seem to load approach

As a follow-up to my post above, is there a chance the inability to load an approach has something to do with the relative ages of the nav databases in the HXr and GNS480? Is this a situation where having old data in one box and new data in another could produce a mis-compare between the waypoints a...

Re: Can't seem to load approach

Jeff - I'm not sure I understand your response to this question, so please bear with me... Customer indicates GNS480/HXr combination previously was able to load an approach, but now cannot. Have there been any changes to this area of the HX/HXr code in recent versions? If no changes in HX/HXr code, ...

HS / WS - Audio Alarms

A more detailed post is in the HS/WS section.

Bottom line is we still don't have audio outputs on the HS/WS devices, despite this having been added to the HX recently.

Really, really hoping we can get the audio enabled on the HS/WS screens. Please, pretty please?
