Re: Voltage Readings

Hello again, A few months ago, I started the engine only to find that my Batt Bus voltage reading was zero. Investigation revealed that the 1A fuse through which the EFIS Battery Bus voltage indication was wired to via 240 Ohm resistor had blown. I replaced with a 5A fuse, to provide some margin of ...

Re: Voltage Readings

Hello Folks, Many moons later, I finally got around to adding the 240 ohm resistor from the battery bus to the EFIS. I now get an EFIS voltage reading within +/- 0.01 of the battery voltage, so I'm very satisfied. Thanks to Jeff DeFouw for his support. To convert an analog input into a voltage with ...

Re: Voltage Readings

hello folks, Sorry about the long delay, but I finally was able to measure voltage difference on EIS vs Battery, with and without engine running. engine running: batt voltage: 14.5 v, EIS indication: 14.1 diff=.4 volts engine not running: batt voltage : 12.5 v, EIS indication: 11.8 diff=.7 volts tho...

Re: Voltage Readings

Hello Bob and Rob, I will measure my voltage readings with engine running this weekend and report back. From my readings of Aeroelectric Bob and Mike Busch, battery life is extremely sensitive to charging voltage, thus the need to monitor accurately. I would thus argue that even a 0.1 difference may...

Re: Voltage Readings

Hello, Have been thinking about this difference between actual battery voltage and voltage as measured by EIS/EFIS. Given how critical it is to maintain proper system voltage, would it be possible to add a bias function in either EIS or EFIS software, permitting us to adjust displayed voltage to mak...

Re: New AOA system - Install & requirements Info?

I have a Dynon heated AOA pitot already installed. Was wondering if GRT would consider building a box, similar to the GRT MAP sensor, that would receive AOA pressure and transmit a signal to the AHRS via analog or RS232. The AHRS could process this signal in similar fashion as the Adaptive AHRS. Wou...

Re: New AOA system - Install & requirements Info?

hi there,

Will the AOA system be also available for the HXr without the Adaptive AHRS?

Thanks,

Re: HXr and Garmin GNC 255A

Hello Jeff, After re-re-re-checking my wiring, I did find a glitch with the RS232 connection to the EFIS, now corrected. The GNC interface now works as advertised. When looking at the ARINC serial counters, I get indications of transmission on Channel 1 but nothing on Channel 2. The EFIS confirms th...

Re: HXr and Garmin GNC 255A

Hello Jeff, The GNC 255A does have an ARINC 429 output, as well as a RS232 input and output. I have all of them wired to the HXr. I will re-check connections and settings in the GNC and HXr and get back to you if I still have problems. I'm still building so it will be difficult to check the VOR/ILS ...
