Re: Percent Power, Odd Readings

Thanks, Bob

I will go over them again, but I think they are correct. Will double check that they are in both upper and lower screens.

Thanks,

Percent Power, Odd Readings

Hi all, I set up my percent power per the chart on the website for IO360. The numbers were totally off in the sense that at 23" and 2300 RPM, it would be reading 97% or so when that should be more like 70%. I went through the tables from Lycoming for my engine, put in those numbers ( a little d...

Re: Dual VOR indications

HI Bob, That would be just what I need. I guess I haven't figured out where to look for this. I will go up this weekend and experiment. The users manual for the HX does not really spell this out. There is a sort of fleeting referral to this on 3-9, description of the HSI. It describes white points f...

Dual VOR indications

Hi folks, I have a dual HX system, Garmin GTN 650 and SL 30. When doing some VOR and ILS approaches, I need two separate VOR readings. As is, if I put NAV (GTN) on the upper screen and put NAV 2 (SL30) on the lover screen, when I change the lower screen to NAV 2 it changes the upper screen. Is there...

Re: crate

Some one was kind enough to provide the cooling rate information: 50 degrees F per minute, according to Lycoming; Sudden cooling is detrimental to the good health of the piston aircraft engine. Textron Lycoming Service Instruction 1094D recommends a maximum temperature change of 50oF per minute to a...

Hi guys,

I was trying to set up the CHT rate of cooling alarm in my EIS 4000. THe instructions say to ask the manufacturer for readings. I have a lycoming IO360. Anyone know the maximum rate of cooling and how to set that up in the EIS?

Regards,

Fuel Flow Calibration

Hi all, I have a GRT EIS 4000 and a red cube fuel flow meter. The version K instructions say to set the calibration at 200 and then adjust as you measure actual fuel consumption. The instructions with the red cube say to set it at 83 and adjust according to your fuel consumption. At 200, it is defin...

Strange MAP readings

I have been through a really frustating round of getting my engine to operate correctly. It is now running smooth and strong but I still can't make heads or tails of MAP readings. The strange reading have really complicated the process of finding why my engine didn't want to run smoothly. IO360M1B E...

Flight Data Recording

Hi folks, I have read section 7-1 in the User Manual for the HX system about fifty times. I still don't get how to use the flight data feature. I understand that I need to put a hefty flash drive in the MFD USB port. Do I correctly understand that I hve to go to the menu and hit DEMO before and afte...
