Re: Landing Gear Voice Alert

We intend to send things like this over the display link but we didn't add display link support for it yet.

Re: Landing Gear Voice Alert

It is functional in the beta versions when you have analog inputs for at least one gear up/down signal. The no-signal reminder-only mode that some people want is not functional. I will attach the current documentation.

Re: Display of GPS approach type

The type of approach is not transferred to the EFIS by the GPS. There is no standard data field in the RS232 or ARINC 429 protocols to transfer this information. Garmin has their own secret protocols to transfer this data to their equipment.

Re: Have I screwed up my EIS configuration?

Those are the settings and limit pages. There are a bunch of "Disable Pg#" settings, so you may not be able to tell them apart. Keep pushing the right button (Next) to go to the next setting, or hold down the right button to cycle through all settings and exit the settings menu.

"Cont" is the LCD ...

Re: Tachometer input from SureFly SIMs

It seems like it could work with their P-lead voltage spike but other information says you need the Tach2. Here is what Ken told another customer a few months ago:

You will need the Tach2 module to get a tach signal from the SureFly SIM. Connect the SIM P Lead to the Tach2 module, then the 0-5V ...

Re: L2E "Timing Advance" settings

For timing advance, a scale factor of 25 with offset zero, forwarded sensing, Integer follows their example: 2.5V would show as 25. If it can do fractions of a degree and you wanted a decimal point you would use a scale factor of 250 in Decimal mode to get 2.5V showing as 25.0.

Re: Hall Effect Current Sensor settings

The standard 100 amp settings (forward sensing with scale factor 164 and offset 313) would not include a decimal place, so you'd want to set up that Aux input for Integer mode. That would mean it was actually indicating 12 amps instead of 1.2.

It is updating with the full rate of the AHRS input, which is 15 times per second.

Re: HDG to Intercept VOR or GPS OBS Course with Auto Sequencing

No, there are no HDG-to-VOR or HDG-to-GPS automatic intercept modes. The only HDG intercept modes we have are for the LOC/ILS, GPSV, and SAP approach modes.

Re: OAT probe in lieu of Carb Temp

The EIS 4000 has an OAT probe input on pin 22. It has to be the type of OAT probe that we make. Technically, you can connect one of our OAT probes to the Carb Temp input, but you would only do that if you needed to monitor an additional temperature. The EFIS will automatically recognize a sensor on ...
