Re: Flight Director on Sport EX-How to?
The flight director doesn't have a button on the EX displays without the Vertical Autopilot Functions option, also known as VERT A/P, IFR A/P or GPSV. On displays without this option, the vertical mode is always altitude-hold. An altitude-hold version of the flight director is available in this beta...

Re: Hs-Hx-Gemini AP
You should not have a Virtual GPS2 configured. Virtual GPS2 should be Off on both displays. If your attached HS GPS is configured as GPS1 then it should work as GPS1 on both displays, and GPS1 Flight Plan Source should be configured as Internal on both displays. It sounds like the HX is confused abo...

Re: Hs-Hx-Gemini AP
The HX serial port 5 output should be configured as "Autopilot (NMEA0183)". As long as the HX display has GPS position data from any source it will output NMEA0183 GPS data on this output.

Re: Flight plan format
Jeff, do you have an example that shows how to import a plan that uses identifiers already in the system, like airports? I don't want to create waypoints, just use what's already there. Thanks! You have to specify the coordinates anyway. The EFIS will try to match them up with something already in ...

Re: HXr minimum voltage
On a 12V unit, 10 volts, and it will draw more current than at 12. Note that the analog input pull-ups run off a regulator from input power, and that voltage will change if the input power voltage decreases, which could affect sensor inputs that use the pull-ups.

Re: GRT Sport EX Map question
The blue crossed-out areas of the map are part of the ADS-B RADAR function. The EFIS hasn't received data for those areas. This is to prevent confusing a no-precipitation area with a no-data area. ADS-B sends radar data in small rectangles over several minutes. The crossed-out areas near you should ...

Re: Stratux ADS-B Reeceiver
Possibly off the wall question, but would it be possible to utilize the ethernet port to get the RS232 serial data? Something like No, that's just a connection adapter. RS232-Ethernet usually requires $100+ devices that don't have published protocols for our EFIS to use. Probably not worth the trou...

No, the OAT units are always the same as the main temperature units setting.

The EFIS uses a 45 degree intercept for GPS courses.

Re: USB Ports
It looks like sections 3.3.11 through 3.5 were copied from the EX manual and then not edited. Every 10.1 has two separate general-purpose USB ports, so a hub is rarely necessary. The top port can do USB 3.0 and the bottom port is USB 2.0. I've had at least one USB drive function poorly in the 3.0 po...
