Re: GTN 650/750 Firmware Upgrade
I did the upgrade with no negative effects. It did set the VNAV to the Garmin default, which meant that I could not enter crossing restrictions as I had in the past. I went into the SETUP menu and switched it back to how it was before. The new keyboard is nice.

Logbook entries
This is just an informational request. Since I've updated to the latest software version, 5, 2/15/17, my logbook has been consistently adding a leg when I first start up. It also seems to be doing this while my Garmin 650 is booting up and locating itself. The leg is from a private airport in Kansas...

Ground Testing a new installation
Just a heads up on something I found out about that I couldn't find in the installation manuals. It's probably in there but had I found it, it would have saved me a lot of wiring trouble shooting. Once both servo's were installed and wired in I was checking to see if they worked. Software version ch...

Also, If you have audible warnings enabled and wired in you should have heard "altitude" through your headset.

Re: Off-line Flight Planning
Another WingX vote. Since Foreflight will only talk to Stratus ADSB receivers, it's virtually worthless with any of my equipment.

Re: N8JL GRT HXr final update, for now
Well, I have my second MiniX installed and I'm thrilled with the redundancy I now have.
This panel is absolutely amazing to fly behind. It makes the 73's and 76's I used to fly look very antiquated..

Saavy Analysis has a new feature
Just found this in the FAQ's on the Saavy website. It's a nice new feature we can all benefit from. I have a GRT monitor that records each flight in multiple small files. Help! We've build a new feature to help with stitching together those smaller files. Here's how it works: Take all the flights th...

Re: HXr/GTN 650
Hi Bert, first, what is the serial 5 counter doing with everything powered up? Do you see it counting? I also have the Approach system using serial 5 at 9600 BAUD. I have serial 6 OUT from the HXr going to RS232IN, pin 27 on the 650, using FADC format 1. To set the BAUD in the HXr, go into the SETUP...

Re: OAT Pass thru over interlink
That was it. I had updated the AirData and the ADHRS, but somehow didn't get the display unit updated when I did the other two.
Thanks
Thanks
