Thanks Jeff, I will try that. I figured there was a way to do that.

FLying OBS course without additional VOR radio?
I have a Sport EX coupled to an autopilot. I do not have a VOR nav radio or IFR navigator that is coupled to the Sport EX. I can set a VOR as a destination and fly directly to it but am wondering if I can set a course to fly to that same VOR via a particular radial and also if I can set things up so...

Re: Sport EX "must learn first" ?
Just returned from my first long trip with the Sport EX. Flew to Denver (CFO) and back to 36WI. It was about 1300 miles give or take. The system worked great. The auto pilot was really nice. As mentioned, I also used an iPad with FlyQ and WingX for additional info. I find the FlyQ does a better job ...

Re: Issues with the EchoUAT
I *really* appreciate you taking the time to share your experience; the docs on both uAvionix and GRT tend to be a bit 'center of the universe' (the writer knows all the references and assumes everyone else does too..). So, you're using the Echo to 'sniff' the KT76's RF for squawk code & altitu...

Re: Issues with the EchoUAT
Hi Keith, I appreciate the info. Interesting that installing the EFIS would improve your 'out' performance. Did you switch to using the EFIS as your pressure altitude reporting source when you installed it? I have heard about 'issues' with using some of the older mode C transponders to 'drive' 978M...

Re: Issues with the EchoUAT
Charlie, No I did not switch to using the EFIS as the pressure altitude source. That comes from a Trans Cal encoder that is wired to the KT76A. In the set up screen for the Sport EX, I can filter both distance and altitude for which traffic to display on the screen. I am not aware of any traffic fil...

Re: Issues with the EchoUAT
Pardon the thread resurrection, but I'm considering the purchase of a EchoUAT/SafeFly, and I'm hoping for an update on the traffic question in this thread. I see that GRT has some filtering in their EFIS software, but has uAvionix done anything about the 'firehose' nature of their traffic flow? I'l...

Re: Missed approach when using SAP?
Update: I was working thru the menus while on the ground and did find an actual setting for missed approach altitude but was never able to find it again after playing with things for awhile. Seems like the first time I saw it, I was just going thru the different AP menus while on the PFD page. How d...

Missed approach when using SAP?
I have added the vertical autopilot command option and have been learning how to use it for SAP. My question is since i do not have an external IFR navigator connected what happens when I hit the "missed approach" soft key? Does it attempt to climb to the altitude set for the auto pilot? W...

Re: Sport EX "must learn first" ?
Flew yesterday and the obstacles did appear as Jeff mentioned. Still learning the system but really like it so far.
