Re: Connector A18

Well, worst case, you’d have 12/10k = 1 ma of current. Typical battery is 20 amp hours, so you’d drain the battery in 20,000 hours, or about 2 years.

Re: Erroneous Fuel Tank Qtys after Updating Total Fuel Qty

I find this question confusing. Updating ‘fuel added’ should only affect the fuel total calculated by the fuel flow sensor, and such updates should in no way affect readings from the tank sensors. At least that’s how mine works.

Re: IFR Databases

Having an up to date database in the 175 is a legal requirement for using it under ifr.
You are also required to have a copy of the procedure. Could be on the HXr, could be WingX on an iPad, could be printed on paper.

Re: Flight Director on Sport EX-How to?

Usually the third push takes you back to the main menu (and ENG on the third button). I wonder if you’re getting some contact bounce on that control? If grt doesn’t respond tomorrow, call them. Another thought. Do you have lateral and vertical autopilot enabled, in the setup menu? Even though you do...

Re: Flight Director on Sport EX-How to?

Are you sure you are pushing the right KNOB (twice) and not the right button? First push should bring up the autopilot menu; second push should show the FD on/off button.

Re: Sport EX "must learn first" ?

Here’s something else to practice: when you press ‘miss’ the navigation reverts to whatever you were using prior to the box locking onto the approach - often gps. But if there’s something else required for the miss, say, climbing turn to heading 300, climb to 4000’, you can pre-program this once the...

Re: Sport EX "must learn first" ?

I think you got it figured out. Yes, one rs232 out can go to several rs232-in’s, but not on the same box. If the box needs to look at that data it gets confused-should it look on port 4 or port 5? I think that if port 4 used format ‘gps2 aviation/mapcom’, that would work - the box would look only at...

Re: Sport EX "must learn first" ?

I have a different system (Hx, Skyradar adsb-in +gps-2 via usb, G420W as gps-1) but it works as advertised, with wx and traffic overlaying map or hsi page, and frontal traffic on the main efis page as well. But I don’t think it overlays the flight plan page.

Re: Sport EX "must learn first" ?

Assuming the 175 is similar to the 420W, it should fly holds and procedure turns as long as they’re in the gps database. The EFIS needs to be in GNAV mode. The flight path will not be shown on the GRT map page but will be shown on the 175.

Re: Holding Patterns

I consider this (lack of holding pattern display) to be a relatively low-priority item. If you’re talking about holding, you’re talking about IFR. And virtually all the tso’d gps navigators newer than 30 years old or so show the hold or PT on their screen.
