HXr Software Update 1g

Postby katieb » Thu May 16, 2013 6:46 pm

5/16/2013- HXr Software Update 1g

Support for Dual XGPS170 ADS-B receiver has been added, along with the PFD/MAP split screen option, screenshot capture function, and more. Note: Support has been added for Dual XGPS170 receiver but it is still in testing for HXr (bugs may still occur). Visit the software page for more information and a picture of the Split PFD/Map screen: http://grtavionics.com/softwarehxr.html

(The webpage is still loading as of 2:48 pm Thursday-- it might take a little while for the new links and info to load.)

A Note on Bluetooth: Bluetooth is not included in the mainstream version of 1g. Beta software (Version 1g+Bluetooth) is also available for those who have or want to add Bluetooth capability on their HXr. Everything in 1g is present in the Beta version, with the addition of the Bluetooth support and a new Go Direct button modeled after the one in the App that allows you to divert from the flight plan, fly directly to a waypoint and then resume your flight plan. This function has been included with the Beta software for additional real-world testing.

Boy, do I like the new split screen with the larger MAP display. Great job GRT. Once I went in and pressed a couple buttons I had the split screen and the SNAP button up and running.

A very nice addition to an already very nice setup.

New Nav Database Available- 10-17-13

Postby katieb » Wed Oct 23, 2013 6:36 pm

Hi GRT pilots... Just a reminder that Jeff updated the Nav database last week, valid date 10/17/2013.

Please let me know if you receive multiples of this message. Last time I sent an update, the forum went crazy and sent out many copies to several thread subscribers. I think it's fixed, but if it does so again, I apologize.

Thanks!

Re: HXr Software Update Announcements

Hi Everyone,

Jeff has just released a small update for HXr in response to customer requests and feedback from PS-Engineering. Those of you running the PAC15EX remote audio panel/intercom by PS-Engineering will want to do this update ASAP because it clarifies some of the audio panel softkey labels and consolidates the Crew/Pass intercom volume into one Volume control to align with the capability of the production PAC15EX unit. I've also released an updated version of the PAC15EX Supplement, found on the Supplements page: http://grtavionics.com/supplements.html

Update 2b can be found on the HXr software page: http://grtavionics.com/softwarehxr.html

HXr 2b (2014-04-29)
Add option to change upper left data box label color to bright white
Fix selected altitude starting in 10's mode in A/P engage menu
Fix regular menu appearing after selecting SAP runway
Change old GOTO menu labels to direct-to symbols
Fix alignment of menu with SAP runway list
Show TT22 boxes and buttons during DEMO playback when configured
Record transponder code changes in the DEMO
Fix the default setting for Serial Port 5
Rename audio panel AUX1/AUX2 to NAV1/NAV2 to match PAC15EX
The PAC15EX does not have a separate passenger volume, so only show one volume, VOL.

HXr Version 2d now released- Enroute HITS, ADS-B TFRs

Postby katieb » Wed Oct 08, 2014 8:11 pm

Hi All,

We've just published the latest software for the HXr, which includes the long-awaited TFRs for ADS-B, Enroute Highway-In-The-Sky and N-numbers for ADS-B targets. There are a lot of small updates with this new software. Please read the release notes carefully and note that some things might look different on your screen. One example is the "GOTO" button on the flight plan now has the Direct-To symbol to make it standardized. Small things like this can trip you up if you are busy in flight, so as always, test it thoroughly in VFR conditions first.

A Note about Charts, Bugs and IMC...
Seattle Avionics has just released new ChartData as part of their GRT subscription package. If you are flying with a new chart update and the new HXr software, please make sure everything works in VFR conditions before venturing into IMC. This is ALWAYS a good idea, but the combination of two major updates from two different sources in your system creates an extra risk for programming bugs. Pay particular attention if you're flying around the Caribbean and southern Canada, where new charts have been added to the SA package in areas where the stock GRT database is lacking information. If you encounter anything unusual with your software, please let us know ASAP.

Here's the link to the HXr software page: http://grtavionics.com/softwarehxr.html

Enjoy!
