ARINC 429 Channel Port configuration for HXr

Maybe I missed it, but I've looked at every available manual on the GRT website and can't find anything that tells me how to access the configuration set pages for the ARINC 429 channels on my HXr for my GPS 400W interface. The GRt GNS 430/530 Equip Supplemental provides info on what data are required for each channel, but nothing on how to access the configuration set page for those channels.

Your help would be greatly appreciated.

See page 2-2 of the HX set up guide. There is very little to do other than select “Lo” speed. The ARINC 429 format is highly standardized, with identifiers attached to each piece of data. The gps will just pick out the data it needs from the many variables sent, ignoring what it doesn’t want.

Pretty sure the Hxr is the same as the Hx for the ARINC 429 configuration. It's in the Set Menu under General Setup. The setting option used to configure the ARINC is the "Arinc Module Connected" setting. If you can't find a details in the Hxr manuals, download the HX, HS & WS Set Up & Configuration Guide and refer to Chapter 2. There are several ARINC options to define so you might want to puruse the entire section.

Thanks for the info. I think I've got this figured out.

Went to the GNS 430/530 supplement, para 3.1, display unit setup. Think I may have missed something here as I am getting a "No ARINC data input on Channel 1" on my GPS 400W when I know my wiring is correct. I was thinking that there must be a configuration setup for each ARINC Channel as per a RS 232. Apparently when I go thru this setup procedure, it configures the ARINC ports accordingly.

Yes, the arinc input should be configured within the 430 for “EFIS/airdata” and “low” speed.
