X-Plane 11 interface

Hello everyone,

I'm hoping to interface my HXr to X-Plane 11 while my RV-8 is still under construction. I can handle the X-Plane side of things to get any required data out. A few questions:

Are the protocols for AHRS and EIS data available somewhere? I'm assuming I could send GPS data as NMEA0183.

Could GPS, AHRS, and EIS data be sent to the HXr using the interdisplay link only? A single ethernet connection might be easier than configuring multiple serial ports.

Has anyone done this before?

Thanks,
Casey

The AHRS and EIS protocols are available by e-mail. Contact me and I will send them. The GPS inputs can be configured to accept NMEA0183 and Aviation formats.

There isn't a way to send AHRS data to an HXr through the display link, and the display link protocols aren't documented anyway, so you will have to send the data through the serial interfaces.

As far as I know nobody has made an X-Plane interface. Many years ago someone made a Microsoft Flight Simulator interface.

Success! I've got GPS, AHRS, and EIS working, except for the magnetometer input. I even shot some approaches last night using the Instrument Approach Option. Fun stuff!
