Can some one tell me is there a document that shows
how to dial in a radial on HXr? Have a 650 for nav and if I
Activate a flight plan it shows up on the EFIS. But no luck
with the VOR.
Thanks
Bert

I have an HX, not an HXr. After selecting vor from the nav source menu, I bring up the HSI, either full screen from the MAP page, or, usually, split screen from the PFD. Either way, the right knob then controls the pointer on the HSI, which is the desired vor track. HXr cannot be too different.(?)

Push the CDI/OBS button on the HXr. If your HXr is not set up to follow the 650 mode, you'll then need to push the appropriate NAV button (usually NAV1) to select the VOR/LOC source. If your HXr follows the 650 mode, it will already be in the matching VOR mode. Then use the right knob in the CDI/OBS menu to adjust the VOR course. The course is displayed numerically above the knob and above the mode button. The course indicator on the HSI will also move as you change the course.

The scale part of the needles/scales should appear as soon as you're in VOR mode. If you are receiving a VOR signal, you will see the lateral deviation indicator in the HSI and on the PFD (if enabled; generally ILS, VOR, and GPS Loc/GS deviation indicators would be enabled for a 650 in the SET MENU, Primary Flight Display settings).

If you're not sure if the HXr is receiving all the data, you can confirm communication with the 650 by checking SET MENU, Display Unit Maintenance, ARINC Status page. The VOR/ILS Frequency line will show the NAV frequency selected on the 650 if all the VOR/ILS NAV data is communicating. This frequency should also display in the lateral status boxes above the airspeed tape on the PFD when the 650 is selected and in VOR mode. If you are receiving a VOR signal, you will see the VOR Omnibearing line filled in on the ARINC Status page.
