HSI on main page

Post by Norcalrv7 »

I currently have a 8.4" HX EFIS. Is the HXr the only unit capable of displaying an HSI at the bottom of the attitude indicator page? Is this mainly because of the size of the screen? I don't need the extra functionality of the HXr, But I would like to be able to use this type of view for flying IFR. The split HSI screen is OK on the HX, but I would prefer it overlaid on the bottom.

Thank You

You can get "needles" or "pointers" on the main PFD page, but if you want a full HSI you'll need to split the page left-right. That's due to the wider-than it-is-higher format of the GRT.
I use the split screen HSI all the time for approaches. It just takes a little practice to get used to looking right instead of down.
