IO-540-D RV-10 Engine Performance Table?

Post by hotwheels »

Does anyone have an Engine Performance Table for the standard IO-540-D4A5 used for RV-10?

I have been using a table that someone sent me a while back, but I don't know where it came from and can't trace all the values to Lyco Operator Manual values. This sort of thing isn't useful if you don't trust the values...

Thanks!
Jay

Here's what I have:
Sea
Level
RPM 55% 75% Altitude Delta HP
2000 23.20 29.40 2000 5
2100 22.40 28.10 4000 9
2200 21.50 26.80 6000 13
2300 20.70 25.70 8000 17
2400 19.80 24.70 10000 21

If I remember I'll bring my table back from the hangar and post it.
But keep in mind there is no correction for mixture setting - the table numbers I used are for best power, about 125 - 150 F rich of peak EGT. The error isn't too bad for other mixture settings anywhere on the rich side, but if you run lean of peak - as I do - the power can be considerably less than shown. But it's a good reference if you only like to run lean of peak - again as I do - when at "safe" power settings, like less than 70%. You can estimate the power setting when lean of peak by noting the change in fuel flow. e.g., if at peak EGT the power is 65% and FF is 12 gal/hr, then if you go lean of peak to 10 gal/hr (20% less) the power will be 20% less, about 52%.
