HX, latest EFIS software, Autopilot Modes:
The 3 autopilot modes available from soft keys are Auto, Vertical speed, or Airspeed. Selecting vertical speed or airspeed work fine.
The Auto mode has me confused. The book says this commands climb or descent at the preset airspeed or vertical speed, as set in PFD settings. However, after selecting an altitude, the next option always asks me to select the airspeed. I can't select vertical speed when in Auto mode.
Must be a bug, since I never mis-understand anything!!
Autopilot Modes Bug?
Re: Autopilot Modes Bug?
Poor grammar in the manual, although I think it's correct if read carefully. 'Auto' has the autopilot climb holding an airspeed, but descend holding a vertical speed. Tell the autopilot you want to descend in 'auto'; it should ask for a vertical descent rate.
Re: Autopilot Modes Bug?
Thanks. That explains it.
