MY new sport sx display is exhibiting intermittent flickering, seems to dim itself, and has occasionally shut off. besides checking the power wire, anything else to check?

Hello Stump,

Make doubly sure that the SX is getting good clean DC voltage and that the power wiring has good continuity. I emphasis this because a thorough check isolates the problem either to or away from the SX, whereas an incomplete check does not. It can easily be a wiring issue or bad power. I had a similar issue with an HX being run off of a low cost bench power supply. It couldn't handle the current required by the HX. I grabbed a heftier power supply and it ran rock solid.

If the power and power wiring are good, then the focus moves towards a SX hardware defect that surfaced after factory inspection and testing. If the unit is defective, you can send it in for repair.

Please let me know what you found out was wrong on your sport display. I'm having a similar problem but only when the unit is starting up. once the unit is up and running and I'm in the air it always seems to stay stable. this is what is happening. When I turn the system on after the motor is running, it starts to load and I accept the settings then it will start to calibrate the alignment, then the system will just lock up and freeze. some times the screen will get these weird lines running vertical down the screen. I have GRT's back up battery system and I don't think its a power connection problem. When I turn it off I have to let if set for several minutes otherwise when I turn it back on it may just stay on the light colored GRT screen forever. Please let me know what you experienced.
