GRTJeff,
I have a Mini AP with a Trig TT22 both purchased from GRT and have a couple questions. I also am using a EIS4000 and AP servos (direct purchase) so my serial ports are pretty much used up. I have 1 232 TX left!
1. How does position info get from the Mini AP to the TT22? Does this info cross the TMAP interface or does the TT22 require a 232 input? This would be my last 232 TX.

2. Will the TIS data display on the map and does this cross the TMAP interface?

3. Will the TMAP display on a Garmin 496?

When I bought the TT22 it was sent with a 232 interface "dongle", do I really need this sinc ethe Mini AP uses the TMAP interface?

OK Thats 4 questions... my bad :)

Regards
Jeff Stultz

Since no one else has answered, let me guess. I am planning on a TT-22 but don't have one yet so Jeff will need to confirm:
If your EFIS currently gets non-2020 compliant gps data, that will be passed thru to the TT-22 along the control wiring, nothing else needed. If you have a 2020 compliant GPS that the TT22 can read (for example, a Garmin ifr box putting out data format "ADSB+") then run a wire from a serial output on the Garmin box directly to the TT-22 (pin 5 or 6, I forget which). Jeff, does that work?

If you have a 2020-compliant GPS, you can wire that directly from the GPS to the TT22. For example, Garmin 430 type devices have a Garmin ADS-B+ output.

If you are using the TT22 A/B (TMAP) port on the Mini, it does not currently transfer GPS data or TIS data. The RS232-TMAP adapter will transfer this data if wired, although the adapter requires an RS232 port. The Mini would display the TIS data from the adapter.

The TIS data is output directly from a pin on the TT22 box. You can wire it directly to any device capable of reading the Garmin TIS (GTX330) format.
