EIS 2000/STD+ALT+XCJ Power Failure

My EIS 2000 will turn on and then the screen goes off after about 5 seconds as if there is no power to the unit. When I turn off the power for 10 seconds and turn it on again it will do the same thing again. I connected it to a good 12 volt car battery and it does the same thing. Any ideas as to what is wrong and how I can fix it?
