Remote mount EIS

There must be a zillion ways to remote mount the EIS box. But, since I do not have an RV, the avionics bay is unavailable to me. I have an aluminum instrument panel and a gas tank about 8 inches in front of the instrument panel. I'm thinking "glove box" on the right side of the 2 seater's side-by-side panel. Maybe install the EIS box in the back of the glove box so as to enable programming access. I'd like to see what others have done to remote mount the EIS.

Regards,
Eric Schlanser, W-10 project.

Eric,

I have a Long EZ (Canard Pusher)...my EIS is very remote. It's in the rear of the aircraft to simplify the install. I can take a pic if you are interested. But it's in a rear part of the aircraft that will not be accessible during flight. That probably doesn't help in your situation. Not sure if your question is for an install specific to your W-10 or the EIS capabilities in a remote install.

So far for me, it has been set it and forget it...

Thanks for the reply. Now what I was hoping for was some remote mount picture such as this one but with the EIS. Tried to cut and paste the pic but no joy so here's a link:

Just my two cents on remote mount. I have a HXr and HX with a EIS and now have 50 hours flying behind these. You will find you have to go into the EIS programming many times before you get everything set correctly. If you remote mount it make it easy to get to the screen to get into the programming of it! Also I get a alarm on it and can be only acknoledge by the EIS. Haven't figured out how to turn this alarm off yet!
