Can anyone tell me if I can use a magnetic pickup to count ring gear teeth and display the engine RPM on my EIS? If yes how do I configure the EIS to accept this information?

The EIS tach input accepts up to 10 pulses per revolution. A pulse for every gear tooth would be too many pulses. If you can attach a magnet or two to a moving part of the engine with a sensor near it, that is an option. The Tach P/R setting is used to convert the number of pulses to RPM. There is a table of valid entries in the EIS manual.
