Any plans to allow connection to tablets for 3rd party EFBs?

Post by aanderson81 »

I have been using Garmin pilot but would love to ditch the GDL 39 and use the GPS and AHRS from the Sport SX with WingX Pro via the bluetooth dongle. Is this something that has been considered as a potential feature?

We've talked to some 3rd parties about doing this when we have a WiFi dongle. The Bluetooth link only works with Android tablets. The WiFi link can work with Apple tablets.

Are there any plans for the WiFi dongle? Dynon and Avidyne both have this functionality currently and FlyQ has been touting the functionality with these vendors. This would be especially useful for transferring flight plans and custom waypoints which is a bit of a current pain point.

We are going to add WiFi support. It's still about 4 items down on the to-do list.

GRT_Jeff, any hint on the 3 items ahead of this? I am about to start my panel upgrade
in my RV6A and will be mounting my Sport SX. Also what about a WAAS GPS for ADS-B?

The first two items are the Sport/Horizon EX and the 2020 GPS for ADS-B.

I would like a GPS inside my Sport SX that is 2020 compliant.
Right now I have to use NavWorx GPS, but I have lost my Sport SX date and time capability to do so.

My Sport SX GPS is wasted as a result.
