Sport SX 9D - ADS-B

Post by Capflyer »

Can we expect Jeff to complete the Bluetooth programing for the Sport SX soon? Prior to OSH? It would be nice to have it for the trip out there and back so I have traffic and more importantly, weather.

Connect a SkyRadar or a Dual ADS-B receiver and you have weather NOW. If you have SkyRadar D2 you will get 1090ES traffic direct and UAT (978mhz) traffic from ground stations if you or someone very nearby has "ADS-OUT". If you have the Dual it receives only the UAT (978 MHz) traffic assuming you or someone nearby is "ADS-B OUT" equipped.

Sooo....
Th ball is in your court now for traffic ns weather.

A powered USB 4-port hub is **strongly** recommended for the Sport units. VERY STRONGLY.
And it let you hav the receiver and memory stick plugged in.

The ADS-B connections are serial or USB, and those options are already available. The Bluetooth interface is being added to link the display and Android app. There are no plans to use the Bluetooth interface for other devices at this time. If that happens, it will be after OSH.
