Set-up for engine data on Mini-X from EIS 2004

Post by sleddriver »

I have an EIS 2004 and I have connected the Green/Black serial out to the Yellow/White serial #2 In on my Mini-X. In the set up menu I can set the serial 2 baud rate to 9600 but in the menu to turn on the Serial #2 In, There is no "EIS" option. There are plenty of other options such as magnetometer, various GPS, SL30 and 40,...etc. Other EFIS unit documentation such as the Sport models indicate that there should be an EIS option. The data counter indicates that I am receiving plenty of data over the connection, but it is not usable by the EFIS unit as I have it configured. I have updated to the latest software. Am I missing something? Thanks!!!

EIS support is part of the optional Feature Set 1 (Option Package 1), which includes engine monitoring, ADS-B display, Bluetooth Link, and audio alerts. This is an additional purchase for units ordered before January 2018. These became standard features in January 2018 and all Mini units ordered since January 2018 should have this option preloaded. If you ordered your Mini in 2018, I can look up the option in our records. If your Mini is older than that you can contact Jon/sales about adding this to your unit. (Engine monitoring was always standard on our other models.)
