EIS backup power

Post by nightflier »

What is the best way to have two sources of power to the EIS 6000?

The simplest solution for continuous power is to use diodes to isolate each power input and combine the outputs. You need diodes that are rated for the voltage and current. Many of our other products do this internally for multiple power inputs. I would have to look up which ones we use. The input with the highest voltage will deliver the power.

I have succesfully used something like this:

https://www.amazon.com/BOJACK-KBPC2504- ... 91&sr=1-16

for supplying items with ONE power input via TWO sources.

There are LOTS of choices.

Note that the final voltage to the device is likely to be anywhere from .2v to .6v less than the supply voltages.
