Long AHARS boot wait times

Post by Kahuna »

All our team is seeing this same behavior.
On boot, get to PDF and there is a count down from ~40 sec on ahars. Then it resets to ~2:30 seconds and we essentially have a 3 min sit and wait period for the ahars to stabilize.
This may not seem like a long time, but it is.
How do we get this number to something less than 20 seconds?

I see this occasionally, but I would estimate about 75% of the time it boots up in about 40 seconds.

Dave is your engine running during this boot period?

The AHRS fast-alignment mode is extra sensitive to any sensor noise. It will switch to a slower alignment mode to be safe. According to Greg, you do not have to wait for the full alignment to move the plane. Only the first 10 seconds are critical.

Yes, my engine is running during the boot up time.
