Trim tab-style autopilot?

Post by Hambone »

Newbie here. Just bought a 2004 SkyRanger Classic with a Sport EX.

I'm seeing with interest autopilots from other companies that drive the trim tabs with much smaller heavy-duty model aircraft servos, rather than the traditional large servos driving the flight control surfaces directly. The SkyRanger's flight controls are all cable.

Just wondering if this is something we may see from GRT.

It's not something we've planned to do and I haven't heard any talk about it. I think one customer said there were going to try to hook our servos up that way.

Many planes that use cables can use capstan servos with cables that clamp onto the control cables, and we do have a capstan option for our servos.
