L2E "Timing Advance" settings

Post by tweetr »

What are the correct settings for Aux Scale Factor and Aux Offset for Timing Advance using the L2E interface on my Lightspeed Engineering Plasma III ignition? According to the L2E documentation:

"The L2e outputs a 0-5 volt signal to be connected to a compatible input on your EFIS engine monitor.
Scale your EFIS as specified below:
Timing Advance: 0.1 volts per degree of advance (example: 2.5 volts = 25 degrees of advance)"

Thus I need to scale the Aux Input to show 0 - 46 degrees of timing advance from an input of 0 - 4.6 volts.

Thanks!

For timing advance, a scale factor of 25 with offset zero, forwarded sensing, Integer follows their example: 2.5V would show as 25. If it can do fractions of a degree and you wanted a decimal point you would use a scale factor of 250 in Decimal mode to get 2.5V showing as 25.0.

I made those changes.
SF = 25
Offset = 0
Sensing = Forward
Integer

As soon as this rain stops I'll go fly it and check the results!
