Forgive my ignorance . . . .

Data is POSTED a few days before VALID. Can you update the data as soon as it's posted and then will the correct data be referenced by the avionics?

The display can only hold one set of navigation data. You can put the file on a USB drive early to get it ready to load. The display loading process has to be triggered manually with the Load Navigation Database function. Once you load the navigation database into the display, the display will start using it, even if it's not effective yet.
