Urgrade HS to HX?

I have legacy HX and HS screens in my RV7A. If I find another HX, could I easily upgrade the HS with the new found HX? Or is there a better upgrade without having to modify my panel?

If you find an HX with the same screen size then it would fit right in and use the same connectors. The HX doesn't have a gray code altitude encoder so if you have an old gray code only transponder hooked up to the HS that could be an issue. If you have a GPS attached to the back of the HS there is no way to transfer that to the HX.
