Tachometer input from SureFly SIMs

Does the EIS require SureFly's Tach2 product for tachometer input?

Here is the description of the product:

Tachometer Signal Converter
The Tach Signal Converter (Tach2) converts SIM P-Lead signals to negative –going signals compatible with the Horizon P-1000 digital tachometer input and to a positive-going 0-5V square wave signal compatible with electronic tachometers that rely on a signal from a magnetic pickup inserted into a magneto.

I'm assuming that it is required and that the positive going 0-5volt square wave signal is what will work best.

It seems like it could work with their P-lead voltage spike but other information says you need the Tach2. Here is what Ken told another customer a few months ago:

You will need the Tach2 module to get a tach signal from the SureFly SIM. Connect the SIM P Lead to the Tach2 module, then the 0-5V Output signal will get wired to an EIS tach input; these connections won't need a resistor wired in-line.

Settings for the Tach2 signal:

The EIS TachP/R setting for this input will need to be set to 1 (1 pulse/rev) for a 4-cylinder engine or 0 (1.5 pulses/rev) for a 6-cylinder engine.

The EIS tach input sensitivity (TachSen) needs to be set to High (H) for the 0-5V signal.

Thanks! That's what I needed.

I'm guessing that the settings I used for the UMA T1A9 pickup will work as-is but I'll check the TachSend setting = High.
