I'm bulding a panel with EIS. The EIS has the "new" warn light, looks like a LED with a resister in series and a purple wire to go to pin 7. I want to use a different LED for this purpose. Can I just "replace" the supplied LED with mine?

In an older setup, I have a LED connected to +12 and to purple, pin 7 with a 10K resister in parallel with the LED. Its worked fine for years.

Yes, the warning light output simply pulls to ground when active. You can put anything you want there up to 0.11 Amps. A simple LED would need a series resistor to limit the current through the LED. Some LEDs made for panels have the series resistor integrated. The parallel resistor prevents the LED from lighting up dimly when it's supposed to be off due to some current to ground even when it's not active in some EIS hardware.
