Re: Sport Install, Rev E.

GRT documentation has gone through many changes of authorship over the years. Every time software or hardware is updated, a documentation change "should" happen but often doesn't due to lack of personnel. It's a huge job that would be taken care of by a team of engineers, writers and graph...

Re: Off-line Flight Planning

Yes, you can load our free app to flight plan offline, and then transfer it into the HX, or HXr via a Bluetooth connection. We will be developing an interface to Avare also, but that is not available today.

Re: Nav Database - Jeppesen benefits?

Hi Russ, The only way you will get sequenced GPS approaches is with a certified IFR GPS unit. Most if not all the GPS waypoints are in the free database, and you can build a GPS approach manually as a flight plan. However, unless you just build a few local approaches and store them in the EFIS memor...

Re: Encoder and Magnatometer question

In the EFIS installation manual, we recommend wiring the EFIS to a separate Avionics master switch to isolate it from the variations in voltage associated with engine start. The manual states that backlight life can be shortened by these fluctuations. It should also say that the AHRS can have troubl...

Re: HXr/GTN 650

HI Bert,

Section 3.1 in the GRT/GTN supplement has a list of settings for you to check. The baud rate is in there but it doesn't specifically say "baud," just "Rate" as displayed on the EFIS General Setup page. Listen to Widget, he knows what he's talking about. :D

Another Mini software update

We've just posted a Mini software update (AHRS 51) that addresses the "jumpy" pitot/static instrument display some pilots have reported on the Mini. Jeff also released display unit software 1e that enables the Mini-X to display a wind calculation vector if equipped with a calibrated remote...
