Re: Long AHARS boot wait times

The AHRS fast-alignment mode is extra sensitive to any sensor noise. It will switch to a slower alignment mode to be safe. According to Greg, you do not have to wait for the full alignment to move the plane. Only the first 10 seconds are critical.

Re: No GPS data from serial 1

The settings apply only to the unit with the module attached. Does the counter stay at zero? Or does it run for a while, then stop? The counter should run as long as the serial rate is correct. Check the Serial Port 1 Rate. For the WAAS module, which has the antenna connection on top, it should be 4...

Re: Demo record rate adjustability

The EISLog program on our web site (Software Updates - Misc Software & Utilities) will give you all of the EIS data at the full rate when you have Keep All Samples checked. RPM is only sampled twice per second, though. At the full rate of 12 messages per second, you would see 6 messages with one...

Re: Demo record rate adjustability

The DEMO function records all data at its full rate. You can see that when you play the demo on the EFIS. Any filtering is done by the decoder software. Our EISLog program by default only keeps one sample from every second. It will show you all of the EIS data if you turn on the "Keep All Sampl...

Re: Upgrading Software HS

Sorry I missed your reply. Yes, your update procedure would be the same. All of the same models use the same update procedure. The zip extraction program often lets you select the directory to extract to. You may need to change this to the drive only. For example, it might say "E:\Full vxx xxxx...

Re: Engine Bar Graph

It's still on the to-do list. The way we would do it is like the red limits. On the bar graphs, the red/alarm limits are shown as thin, horizontal, red lines at the limit points. The filled area, numbers, and label all change to red when you cross the limit. We would do the same for yellow. If you c...

Re: GPS Hold

The bug doesn't apply in your case. It only applies if the TT serial connection comes from the EFIS, and the serial output is set to the "Aviation" format. The ARINC output is not affected. The fix has already been tested and will be in all future updates. I am not sure on when the next up...

Re: GPS Approaches/Missed Approach

External GPS units like the 430W do not send approach information to the EFIS. The EFIS only receives waypoint coordinates, without instructions on what to do at each one. The EFIS attempts to follow the desired track and cross track error from the GPS, but that's not always enough. To fly anything ...

Re: Screen Dimming

The Dimmer Minimum Override is stored with the other settings in the SET MENU. It should remain set until the settings are wiped or restored.

Re: GPS Hold

The GPS SEQ HOLD function is called OBS mode on some GPS units. Flight plan sequencing is suspended, and the course knob allows you to change the inbound/outbound course through the active waypoint, similar to a VOR. The altered course is maintained until you return to GPS SEQ AUTO and sequence to t...
