Re: Sensed AoA algorithm inputs

Yes, ours depends on the static pressure. The pitot input pressure is measured relative to static, and the AOA input pressure is measured relative to static, and then we compare the relative pitot and AOA pressures.

Re: Display problem

That's a video signal issue and we can still fix that on the SX models. It has to do with the video cable and connection. You can send it to GRT with a copy of the Service Request Form inside the box to get it fixed. Get the form from our Support page:

Re: 360 degree compass with 3 views engine, artificial horizon, map

If you mean the PFD split pages that have map, there are only two versions of the map available: arc view and HSI. The HSI is 360 but has very little map data.

The full width map pages can have a 360 map or 360 HSI, but no PFD.

Re: Backup Battery Voltage

You can't view it in the SET MENU. The other displays will detect that a remote channel is available as an option for a bar graph or data box. You have to go to a bar graph or data box setting on the other displays and set it to the remote channel. The remote channel number is just a unique number ...

Re: GPS for Sport 10.1

We had other modules a long time ago but only the Safe-Fly now.

The Stratux and other standard receivers send some limited GPS data as part of the traffic interface. The EFIS can use this if you turn on SET MENU, Display Unit Maintenance, "Advanced ADS-B Receiver Settings", and then configure SET ...

Re: How to display density altitude on the EFIS.

On the 10.1, the Density Altitude is displayed above "D-Alt" in the text data fields around the middle left of the ENG/MAP page (SCREEN, ENG/MAP). It can also be configured to show in any of the top left, combo inset, or PFD/PLATE data boxes using the Box settings in SET MENU, Graphical Engine ...

Re: Binary data in 'GRT Flight Data Log.CSV'

In my experience this usually means the file or filesystem got corrupted, not that that the EFIS actually tried to write that. I would check the drive for errors to make sure all data blocks are marked properly (the quick check, not a full block scan). This can be done with the drive Properties on ...

Re: uAvionix Sky Beacon Interface

Not yet. We need WiFi capability, which is on the to-do list. With WiFi software and a USB WiFi adapter we should be able to read from any receiver that has a standard WiFi ADS-B traffic/weather output that works with most apps.

Re: Checklist when using PFD/Map split page

The EX doesn't have a split page checklist mode and the only way to access the checklist is through the full screen map menu.

Re: Data Logger - sudden change in date

It looks like a GPS week rollover issue. There are old GPS receivers out there (or external GPS units with very old databases) that no longer know what time period they are in. GPS satellites count up to 1024 weeks, but they don't specify what period of weeks those are. The GPS has to know that. We ...
