Re: Display unexpectedly changed to a lower resolution
Your processor video settings were lost. You need a USB PC keyboard to plug into the HX and set them properly. I will attach a document with the full instructions.

Re: Garmin GPS175
Both are required for approach display functions on any EFIS. RS232 -- Provides basic GPS data including position, speed, and flight plan waypoints. ARINC-429 -- Provides approach lateral and vertical deviation data, modes, autopilot commands (for GNAV mode), and additional GPS data including time a...

Re: stratux
Did you use a generic CP2102 or buy the official Stratux one? The official Stratux one from the Stratux store is preprogrammed to identify as a Stratux Serialout adapter so it should always work with (at least be detected by) any official Stratux image (the old v1.6r1 or the newer US "eu" ...

Re: AHRS invalid checksum
The invalid checksum just means it wasn't completed successfully. Calibrate #2. If you have two magnetometers (a legacy Dual AHRS always has two), the calibration is completely independent, and you have to calibrate both using their separate menus. On a Dual Adaptive AHRS with a single magnetometer,...

Re: Horizon EX Audio Warning Volume
Our audio output has to go to an aux input on a radio, intercom, or audio panel and it's expected that the radio/intercom/audio panel will take care of everything else. We don't make audio amplifiers or any other audio equipment that would help with this. I have thought about making a noise filter f...

Re: altitude encoding
Both the Mini and the GTX have to be configured. We typically use the Fuel/Air Data Z Format as it includes some additional data besides altitude. On the Mini this is configured as Rate 9600 and Output "Fuel/Air Data (Z Format)". On the GTX this is configured as "FADC W/ALT".

Re: Filter ADS-B ownship on traffic inset
I assume the 330ES is doing the transmitting? And the ownship is displaying your N-number, not just some anonymous target? You need to configure the Flight ID and Address in SET MENU, General Setup, Flight ID and Address. The Flight ID should be your N-number and the Address should be your Mode S ad...

Re: Horizon EX Audio Warning Volume
I don't recall having that issue with a GMA340, but every once in a while someone reports an issue with quiet audio on an intercom unit. I see we had at least one customer mention getting EX alerts through a GMA340 but they didn't say what pins they used or if they had to do anything special, only t...

Re: iCom A210 Serial Connection
Configure the serial port for rate 9600 and output SL40-1. As far as I know the A210 doesn't send any status info. You can try SL40-1 for the input but I don't think it will do anything to update the frequency status shown on the HXr. The EFIS can send standby frequency commands and lists through th...

Re: OAT reads 68 deg and doesnt change
In the EFIS, go to SET MENU, General Setup, and set "Outside Air Temperature Source" to EIS to make sure you're reading the EIS OAT. For the OAT to stay constant it would need a constant resistance on the OAT input. 68 F would be around 12500 ohms resistance across the two wires of the pro...
