No Glideslope on ILS

I have a Garmin GNS 480 (UPS CNX-80) connected via both ARINC and Analog. (Arinc is NAV 1 and Analog is Nav 2) The ARINC is now functioning normally (reliably starting up and counting) all GPS guided AP functions work. I am able to do RNAV LPV approaches coupled and both needles (glideslope and late...

Re: Jeppesen Nav Database

Are the "future enhancements" (which make use of the Jepp DB) you spoke about in 2013 coming in future software updates (approaches, etc?)

Re: Can't seem to load approach

I understand that now (That you have to be on the final/straight in leg before pressing execute). It is confirmed that my HXr needs to be returned to GRT to swap out the power supply board. The good news; I'm not crazy (or at least this isn't 1 of the symptoms) and there is a defect in the unit. In ...

Re: Can't seem to load approach

Well........Just got off the phone with Jeff @ GRT. Not yet confirmed, but it seems that there is a known issue with the HXr ARINC module in 28V systems. Apparently, there is a timing issue with power-up. If the sequence is a little "off" the ARINC won't power up. Once powered up, it is fi...

Re: Can't seem to load approach

I meant they vectored me to intercept after the PT. They are all set to "low speed". Only the 480 is connected to ARINC. The PT is @ 2500 ft with a decent starting immediately after. They still had me @ 2500 ft when I intercepted that leg. So, if you were flying an approach with a PT, woul...

Re: Can't seem to load approach

Another update. Flew today. ARINC was communicating when I powered the system initially. I shut down the avionics and started up. When I powered the Avionics bus back up, no ARINC. I powered off the Avionics Master and the Master switch (powered down the GRT) when it all came back up, I had ARINC. T...

Demo Decoding

I have no problem uploading my Demo files to Savvy Analysis and seeing all the EIS data on their website, but I have been unable to open the files myself and access all the flight data. I am manually performing flight test profiles and recording, but it would be easier to just perform the test and d...

Re: Can't seem to load approach

Looks like you are right about the ARINC. Yesterday, flew a couple of approaches, everything still grayed out on the EFIS. It was basically showing only whatever comes over the serial or analog inputs. The ARINC counters were dead. Today, powered up and the counters were ticking away and all the men...

Re: Can't seem to load approach

IMG_1059.jpg Ok. Tried again today. Went out to airport. On the ground, Loaded a flight plan to MGJ into 480. Copied to GRT. Selected an approach on the 480, loaded (GPS 21) and "execute" (on 480). Went to GRT (still on ground) and all the menu choices were accessible (Arm, etc). I armed ...

Re: Can't seem to load approach

All the databases are current. The I use the 480 with a Century 2000 and a STEC-50 regularly and I can fly the entire approach once I select "execute" on the 480 and "Direct to" the first leg. Depending on the AP, you can select "Heading" and "Capture" togethe...
