Re: Off-line Flight Planning

I'll put in another vote for WingX, for the same reasons James has stated.

No interest in Avare or Foreflight.

Re: ADS-B Traffic from Sky Radar

It doesn't sound like your antenna setup should be a problem.

Re: ADS-B Traffic from Sky Radar

I am using the two antennas that came with the SkyRadar unit. My Glastar is fiberglass back in the tail section, and I have the SkyRadar mounted back in the tail a couple of feet behind the baggage bulkhead. The antennas are attached directly to the unit itself. How long, and what type of coax cable...

I agree. Not really much to configure in WingX though, so my thoughts are leading towards the SkyRadar unit.

Re: ADS-B Traffic from Sky Radar

I am running WingX on an iPad 2, connecting wirelessly to the SkyRadar. The GRT HX is connected via USB. I should note that I also have a Trig TT22 with ADS-B Out which triggers the ground stations to transmit the traffic data. Do you have ADS-B Out in your aircraft? If not, I am wondering if part o...

Re: ADS-B Traffic from Sky Radar

I have a SkyRadar D connected to an HX by way of a USB cable, and it seems to be working fine. It shows traffic without dropouts, and matches what I am seeing on my iPad. The only things I can think of is to make sure that you are running the latest software on the HX, and try a different USB cable ...

Re: keying the Com radio disengages the Auto Pilot

Verify the integrity of your antenna coax all the way from the SL40 to the antenna. Check for breaks in the shield, sharp kinks, etc. Verify that the connectors on both ends of the coax are properly crimped and/or soldered (depending on type), and haven't come loose. Try to ensure that the coax does...

Re: Mini-X and TT22

I'm doing plans for a panel upgrade with the Mini, but I need to cut a new panel and I'd be removing the Trig head anyway (compact panel in a small aerobatic aircraft). I'd be retaining conventional speed and altitude - I really want the Mini for its other functions which will allow me to remove tw...

Re: Mini-X and TT22

While we're on the topic of the TT22, is my understanding correct regarding the above post that when interfaced with the Mini, you cannot use the Trig control head? In other words, you have either one or the other, but not both? Yes, I believe that is a correct statement. Curious, why would you nee...
