Re: Hall effect sensors read exactly 10% of real value
From the sheet on the Hall effect.... "For sensing current in the -100 to 100 Amp range, or -50 to +50 Amp range, an auxiliary input which does not include a decimal point in the display is the best choice, as the displayed value will have a resolution of 1 Amp." ....I infer that I can get...

Re: Hall effect sensors read exactly 10% of real value
Well since I can read .5 amp, that would be decimal. Why would that make any difference anyway? Besides, I want to be able to read decimal values for the amps.Bobturner wrote:Is the current variable listed as an integer or a decimal? Try the other one.

Hall effect sensors read exactly 10% of real value
My two 100amp Hall effect sensors read exactly 10% of the actual amps running thru them - ie when they should read 5amps they read .5 amps. I know what they should read as I have an amp meter on the high side of my 120AC/12DC power supply to measure total load. Clearly its a setting, but I havent fo...

Re: Placement of Current sensor toriods
Ack, ok my bad. I read 125F. 125C, yeah thats no problem. Back to the engine mount they go.
Sorry bout that.

Re: Placement of Current sensor toriods
I moved it, but its a bad move. All my batteries, alternators and A,B and crossfeed buss solenoids that are on the firewall are drawing (when all are on) up to 4.5 amps that are then unaccounted for. This will only work if you have a heavy old school lead-acid batt that you had to put in the back ca...

Re: Placement of Current sensor toriods
Ok great, thanks Jeff. I hadnt considered that a bunch of wires around a ferrite core would have a temp limit. That must be the green plasty dip covering on the toriod.....one would have thought theyd use enamel like the magnetic wire inside......but I'll take a look at moving it inside; aluminum to...

Placement of Current sensor toriods
I understand the basic concept of the toriod and the magnetic field generated by the current running thru the wire. I have them mounted in free space on their respective alternator wires as in the pic, but I'd actually like to snug them up to the engine mount instead, to make the situation more soli...

Re: WiFi Push of Waypoints from Flight Apps
Most tablets (Apple and Android) won't accept GPS data except from approved devices, or the app has to be designed to use it. Apple has very strict requirements for Bluetooth so we would never be able to connect to them over Bluetooth. WiFi doesn't have a standard for GPS input, so that would be up...

Re: WiFi Push of Waypoints from Flight Apps
I dont know a lick about the difference between wifi and bluetooth, but can GPS be pushed over bluetooth to support an Ipad that doesnt have it but needs it ie for FlyQ EFB etc (or any other device for that matter)? Along the same lines, can the HXr USB port pass GPS so I could kill two birds (ie GP...

Re: WiFi Push of Waypoints from Flight Apps
Bump. I see the hooks for wifi, but gather from what I've read in searches, its not implemented.
Just verifying thats true and bumping for current status....thanks.
