Suddenly my HX won't boot up. Screen says "Operating System not found" (or something like that).
Any ideas?
HX boot up
Re: HX boot up
Here's a summary of our phone conversation:
Disconnect all USB devices and try again. If the processor settings aren't correct, the processor may think a USB drive is a boot disk. Some devices can temporarily look like a drive, but that is rare.
If clock power is connected, a low voltage event may have left part of the processor in a bad state. Disconnect all connectors from the HX and let it completely power down for 10 minutes. Then try again. This problem normally causes a different boot error but it's worth a try.
If the system still won't boot, there must be something wrong with the internal storage or the connections to it and the unit will need to be sent in.

Re: HX boot up
Jeff found something internal had come unplugged. Fixed it, added a retention clip to keep it from happening again. And, turned it around in one day. And, sent it back, no charge - on a 7 year old unit. A+ customer service!
