It appears to me, looking at the Garmin website info on the GPS-20A, the VansAF
http://www.vansairforce.com/community/s ... p?t=127674
Board write-up, and the Trig TT22 Installation Manual, that:
The GPS-20A outputs ADSB+ format, the TT22 inputs ADSB+ format.
The GPS-20A is advertised as being an ADS-B solution for other manufacturers transponders in addition to it's primary market, the GTX-23.
The GPS-20A also simultaneously outputs NMEA at 9600 BAUD so I think it can also be the primary GPS input to a GRT HX system.
The GPS-20A with the correct antenna (required) lists at $1,225 which seems reasonable, though a long way from Dynon's GPS-2020 at $549....
Does anybody have any knowledge (preferable) or opinion (inevitable) on this combination?
Will GRT HX controlling TT22 with input to both from GPS-20A work and give me ADS-B 2020 legal?
Does GRT have something internal like the DYNON product in the works for ADS-B position source?
Thanks for the help, Gordon

Re: TT22 with Garmin GPS-20A for ADS-B
The parts required for compliance are the GPS and ADS-B Out unit. The control head isn't a factor. If you connect a TT22 with ADS-B+ input to a Garmin ADS-B+ unit then it's 2020 compliant.
We will have a 2020-compliant GPS module (external box) that's compatible with the TT22 in the next few months.
