Auto-pilot quick action keys

Post by Pinkav8or »

If we are able to drive the auto pilot with the efis unit it would be of great help to have designated quick action keys on the unit to control the auto pilot

Not sure what you are asking for. Push the right knob once and all the soft keys display autopilot functions. Left knob heading bug, right knob altitude. What would you like to change?

I think we need direct action keys that we don't have to scroll thru a menu for the high use functions

I personally wouldn't call one push of the right knob "scrolling thru the menus"; but the real question is, where would you put all these new buttons? In a new, separate autopilot box? Or make the Horizon box larger? Or take away display screen size? Is there a specific function you are looking for? Or all the autopilot functions with their own buttons? (that's a lot of panel space!)

Why not put it on the right hand side (on the bezel)buttons would give direct access to a function ,example ,you are given a heading and can go directly to heading bug
