Mini software updates

Post by katieb »

We've just published the first revision to the Mini software (http://grtavionics.com/minisoftware.html). The Mini is unique to other GRT EFIS systems in that one software package applies to all Mini models. Your unit will load the portion of the software that it requires.

AHRS software is loaded differently than the regular GRT EFIS in that it is a single-step process. (Set Menu > AHRS Maintenance > Load AHRS Software).

Air Data (Pitot Block) software is going to be a rare update, but you might see some changes to this early on as Minis gain more fleet hours and we get more feedback about their performance. Ensure you have Version 3.

Check your software versions by observing the boot-up screen (before pressing ACCEPT on startup.) All 3 software versions and the navigation database date will be displayed on that screen. Complete instructions for updating your Mini (all models) can be found in the Appendix of the Mini-B Installation, Setup and User Manual (http://grtavionics.com/Mini-B%20manual%20A.pdf)

Hi Mini Owners,

We've just released a new software update for the Mini display unit (X and B). Enroute Highway-In-The-Sky has been added to the Mini-X!

Jeff has also added the OAT and Density Altitude display to the PFD and a compass rose to the North Up map page per customer request. If you have a Mini-X without the map option, this update (1d) is highly recommended as it will fix a bug that was reported in the synthetic vision in units without the map.

The Air Data software update fixes a bug that has caused some boot-up issues.

More details are on the Mini software web page: http://www.grtavionics.com/minisoftware.html For instructions on how to update the software, please see the Appendix of the Mini manual.

Thanks for all your feedback and patience as we continue to refine the Mini!

Another Mini software update

Post by katieb »

We've just posted a Mini software update (AHRS 51) that addresses the "jumpy" pitot/static instrument display some pilots have reported on the Mini. Jeff also released display unit software 1e that enables the Mini-X to display a wind calculation vector if equipped with a calibrated remote magnetometer, and the OAT input has been fixed. Here's a link to the software page: http://grtavionics.com/minisoftware.html

I've also updated the Mini-X manual to include the synthetic approach and enroute HITS.

Have a great weekend!

Katie

Has there been any thought given to adding destination and distance or ETE to waypoint on the main display page? That would save having to change pages to see the info. Otherwise the Mini B is great.

We added new Mini Software and new Air Data Software.

The Mini Software version 1f and 1g adds battery interface as well as allowing changing up reference with external magnetometer. Also several bug fixes are included.

The new Air Data Software version 5 is for a new hardware update for Air Data Modules. The minor hardware update was made to correct an issue that caused a small percentage of units to read airspeed incorrectly. If your Mini is reading airspeed incorrectly, contact support. Air Data modules shipped with the new hardware will already have the software version 5 loaded. Units with version 4 software do not need to be updated but can be updated without harm. Units with version 3 or prior should be updated to version 5 to gain the benefits of previous updates.

Have a great new year!

The update process was very clean and entirely conform to the description. No problem at all.

This is HUGE, a simple distance to waypoint should be on the main screen, or altitude readout on the HSI screen, cant see how those were missed. Than the mini would be 10 out of 10, without one of those its no more than an 8, really need that distance to waypoint on the main screen, it could be tiny but needs fitted in on the screen so you dont have to flip flop flip flip flip flop to get it.

Thank you!
