I am experiencing short duration battery outflows and inflows while at normal cruise. More specifically, I am seeing frequent battery discharges of 1-5 amps, while the alternator is producing somewhere in the neighborhood of 9-12 amps. This makes no sense since EIS is reporting bus voltage of ~14 volts and the battery is almost certainly less that that. I have two GRT current sensors both wired to the EIS. One is on the battery's positive conductor, and one on the Plane Power 60 amp alternator's output conductor? It would seem that as long as the alternator's voltage is higher than the battery, there should be no outflow from the battery. There doesn't seen to be any ill effect from this, I'm just trying to understand.
Thanks
Paul
