fuel usage alarm or notification

Is it possible to add an alarm or notification for fuel used based from the fuel flow meter.
Example, I would like to system to notify me that I have used 10 gallons (this number would be a variable input) based on the fuel flow meter. Once 10 gallons are used a notification of some type would be activated. For aircraft with multiple fuel tanks this would act as notification to transfer fuel from on tank to another. Currently most pilots use a timer but fuel usage varies and using the fuel flow meter would be more accurate as to fuel actually used. The system already has the data.
