Is it possible to update a GRT Mini in the field from one version to another (i.e. to add the GPS map feature - next level up)?

I am assuming not - can this be done at the factory or at all?

The Mini-B has to be sent in to be upgraded to an X or AP.

You can add a magnetometer to a Mini-X by ordering the magnetometer. It doesn't require any changes to the X, you just wire it to the serial port.

You can purchase a MAP upgrade for the Mini-X, or an upgrade from a Mini-X to a Mini-AP, which will be delivered in a special software update. The upgrade from the X to the AP includes a magnetometer if you don't already have one.
