AHRS invalid checksum

Post by bzollars »

I have a dual HX with dual AHRS+Magnetometer. AHRS #2 is reporting invalid in the ARS Maintenance page and a bad checksum in the calibration page. I get this from either HX unit.

AHRS #1 is fine, and calibrated OK.

Should I attempt calibration of #2, or is further troubleshooting warranted?

Thanks,
Byron

The invalid checksum just means it wasn't completed successfully. Calibrate #2. If you have two magnetometers (a legacy Dual AHRS always has two), the calibration is completely independent, and you have to calibrate both using their separate menus. On a Dual Adaptive AHRS with a single magnetometer, the calibration should sync between AHRS but there are cases where it doesn't. You can check the Sync status lines (if they appear) to see if it gives you an option to sync. If doesn't appear to be able to sync then just calibrate the 2nd AHRS separately.
