Failed to detect AHRS boot - dual AHRS box

Post by maniago »

Jeff,
As a followon to requesting more time scale for the EGT (previous thread on it), I uploaded HXr software version 8.02-beta8-proc7 2026-01-13. Thanks that works good!

That said, the update also pushed for updating the AHRS, which went ok for AHRS1 (now on 73), but AHRS2 fails repeatedly with "Failed to detect AHRS boot", and AHRS2 does not see the magnetometer any more (serial4 input and output are set to AHRS-2/Air Data Computer #2). AHRS2 is still on 71. Pic1 is AHRS2 is selected; Pic2 is Dual AHRS selected and shows the boot fail .....

Im not sure if there are two problems here - something with the magnetometers and something with the boot; or maybe theyre related.
What am I doing wrong?
Thanks

It looks like you lost the output connection from the EFIS to your AHRS. You said Serial Port 4 Output so for the 2nd AHRS on a Dual Adaptive AHRS that would be EFIS pin A5 to AHRS pin 18. When AHRS 2 is selected, your magnetometer and accelerometer data is blank because the AHRS has to receive a request from the EFIS to send the extra maintenance data. That is one way to check that the connection is working.
